Overview

The Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs began its' journey in 2004 with five students ages 3-6 years of age and one teacher. Over the course of five years we have grown to over 250 students and 23 staff members, all by word of mouth. We now serve ages 18 months-15 years of age. This amazing accomplishment is a testament in our ability to provide a rich and rewarding experience for the children and families we serve.

We are thrilled to announce the completion of our new building! Our new facility includes our programs aged 6 years to 15 years of age (grades 1-8). Our middle school students operate a coffee house in a beautifully appointed kitchen.

And, the building has wireless connections, state of the art technology, and a fabulous garden with a fish pond, waterfall, grape arbor, tiered vegetable gardens, a butterfly garden and more.

The Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs school has received the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Accreditation and offers educational opportunities for Montessori PrePrimary (2-3 years), Primary (3-6 years), Montessori Lower Elementary (6-9 years), Upper Elementary (9-12), and Middle School (12-15).

Our programs are second to none, they are innovative and creative, bringing out the very best in the child. It is our belief that the small school setting allows the community to understand and guide the whole child. Our Montessori school is on several acres adjacent to Sharon Forks Public Library on Old Atlanta Road in Cumming, Georgia. There are two buildings on our campus, primary school (ages 18 months-6 years of age) and elementary/middle school (6 -15 years of age). Both buildings are beautifully appointed and our programs are highly desired. Our primary building offers a state of the art facililty which includes children's gardens, a learning kitchen, and several sound proof music rooms. Our upper school building is designed with the older child in mind. Children are able to learn Science first hand utilizing a professionally contracted weather station (WeatherBug), a fully stocked fish pond with waterfall, and a Victory Garden. Our Middle School students are encouraged to join the business club, children learn how to start up and operate a business. Montessori, a true hands on experience cannot be duplicated!

Our multi-aged classrooms provide children with a carefully prepared environment and a wide range of quality materials. Enrichment programs include Spanish, Science, gardening, cooking, art, ballet, Musikgarten and educational field trips. Individualized private lessons in piano and guitar are also conveniently available at our school.

The curriculum director and lead teachers of the Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs montessori school are accredited by nationally recognized Montessori certification programs. Our teachers have college degrees in addition to Montessori Certification. Accreditation from prestigious associations helps to insure that our Montessori school and teachers offer the highest quality Montessori education.
